 Engineer Sherif Ismail, President of the Council of Ministers issued a resolution to form a new industrial zones committee under his presidency, with membership of each of the Chairman of the General Organization for Industrial Development (Rapporteur of the Committee), and Chairman of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, a representative of the Ministry of Defense, representative of the Ministry of Planning and Follow-up and administrative reform, a representative of the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, representative of the ministry of electricity and renewable energy, representative of the Ministry of Finance, representative of the Ministry of the environment, representative of the Ministry of the Interior (and civil protection), representative of the Ministry for Local Development. The commission is authorized to assign calibers to assist it in carrying out the tasks entrusted to it.
The Committee is empowered to take all measures necessary for the establishment of industrial zones planned at the level of the governorates of the Republic, and follow-up to the implementation of the projects that the Committee is working to overcome the obstacles and constraints facing the implementation of the projects. The text of the resolution stated that the Committee will have weekly meetings and will issue monthly detailed report with the results of its work and the latest developments to the President of the Council of Ministers to take the necessary actions. |
