 Egypt’s International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr met Austrian Ambassador in Cairo Georg Stillfried.
During the meeting, an agreement to extend the Egyptian-Austrian financial cooperation agreement worth euros 50 million ($56.4 million) for further two years until 2018 was concluded. Nasr and Stillfried also discussed aspects of joint and future cooperation and the plans to hold the third session of the Egyptian-Austrian joint committee for economic cooperation. Economic ties between Cairo and Vienna go back as far as 1975. Austria has so far contributed to financing a number of vital projects in Egypt, notably euros 10 million desalination project in Arish and Sidi Abdel Rahman as well as euros 10 million railway restructure program. |
