 International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr met Richard A. Albright, the US Deputy Assistant Secretary for Near Eastern Affairs, and Maria Longi, USAID's deputy assistant administrator for the Middle East, to discuss economic assistance programs for Egypt.
Nasr called for upgrading the programs to better meet the needs of the Egyptian people and be in line with government priorities. She told her guests the Egyptian government is seeking to implement a comprehensive economic program to achieve economic growth and stability, and reduce poverty. Coordination between the agency and the ministry should continue to maximize benefits from the US economic assistance programs, Nasr stressed. |
