 President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met with Egyptian scientist Farouk el-Baz who reviewed the latest geological survey photos of some Egyptian areas to make use of their groundwater storage.
The talks are meant to discuss ways of reclaiming and developing these areas and convert them into "integrated development communities", Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said. The meeting, meanwhile, touched on means of upgrading the system of education and scientific research which is so important to achieve progress and comprehensive development, Youssef added. President Sisi said that Egypt seeks improving education and scientific research and looks forward to setting up a scientific base capable of carving out a better future for Egypt, noted the spokesman. The president underscored the importance of benefiting from the outcome of applied research and converting it to productive industries that would contribute to pushing forward economic development in Egypt, added the spokesman. |
