Kuwait's SQM real estate company signed a USD-1. 5-billion agreement with Jordan Free and Development Zones Group to establish a tourist project in the Dead Sea region.
Following the signing of the deal, Bader Al-Ghanim, chairman of the Kuwaiti company, said the project includes four five-star hotels with more than 1,200 rooms. The program also will contain a golf course, local and international restaurants, cafe shops and several commercial shops, he added, noting that it will have more than 18 world-class entertainment centers. He hoped that the scheme would be an outstanding monument in Jordan and could attract large numbers of tourists in the region and the entire world. Meanwhile, head of the Jordanian group Hamza Al-Hajj Hassan said the project would contribute to creating up to 1,000 jobs and add a tourist value to the region. It forms a quantum leap in the tourism sector and an added value to direct foreign investment in the Kingdom, he added, indicating that this will attract more Arab and foreign tourists to the Dead Sea. Jordan's Prime Minister Hani Al-Mulki, his deputy for investment and economic affairs Jawad Al-Anani, representatives of the two sides and others attended the signing ceremony. |
