The market of appliances, including TV sets, in Egypt is valued at a total of 1.5 billion dollars, while the mobile market hits 1.4 billion dollars, an official at Samsung Egypt said.
Samsung Egypt is drawing up policies to encourage merchants to sell and distribute all over the country, Tamer el Gamal, the company's director of appliances sector, said in press statements. He added that the company depends on the average dollar exchange rate in pricing its products. "The prices have risen by 40 percent since the beginning of this year, which is less than the hike in the dollar price after the floatation of the Egyptian pound," he said. He called for paying more attention to the appliances sector, pointing out that this market is concentrated in the Nile Delta and Alexandria due to the huge number of population, culture and demand. |
