Prime Minister Sherif Ismail reviewed the government’s plans and programs which aim to increase export and decrease import in order to fix the trade balance deficit.
This came during Ismail’s meeting with the ministers of planning, electricity, agriculture, trade, finance, investment, public business sector and supply, Cabinet Spokesman Ashraf Sultan said. During the meeting, Trade minister reviewed a report concerning foreign trade sector in the period from January to November 2016. He added that the exports increased in this period by about USD one billion compared to the same period in 2015, while imports decreased by USD seven billion. Exports increased by 27.1 percent in November 2015, he said, adding that imports in the same month decreased to reach USD 4.5 billion compared to USD six million in the same period in 2015. The most important exported goods in November include construction materials, chemicals and fertilizers, furniture and food products. |
