Egypt agrees with Uganda on tapping markets for Egyptian agro-products in the African state.
During a meeting with Ugandan Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries Vincent Ssesmpijja, Egyptian Minister of Agriculture Essam Fayed underlined the importance of promoting cooperation with Uganda in various domains, especially the agricultural sector. In press statements following the meeting, Fayed said the talks tackled means of increasing fruit imports and exports between the two countries. The talks addressed increasing livestock wealth alongside boosting small and medium sized projects in the agricultural domain, he said. He urged the private sector to contribute to sustainable agricultural development. He called for encouraging investments in food industries to realize food security and create jobs. Fayed said it was agreed on opening marketing outlets for Egyptian agricultural products in African states, especially Uganda. Fayed said Uganda sought to draw on the Egyptian expertise in the various agricultural scores through sending more Ugandan trainees to Egypt and exchanging expertise in the agricultural scientific research domain. |
