France's Ambassador to Egypt hailed as brave and important the measures taken by the Egyptian government to face economic challenges and a foreign currency crisis, especially a deal with the International Monetary Fund and the flotation of the pound.
The ambassador made the remarks to MENA on the sidelines of a seminar in Paris dubbed “Egypt is multi-featured market", which was organized by Business France at the French Senate. He expressed his belief that such measures would have positive results in improving the conditions in Egypt within the coming months. He also lauded other measures of cutting subsidy on some imports and responding to the inquiries of the foreign investors on the country’s economic prospects. The French side has realized the Egyptian government’s vision on the investment and economy and felt its strong desire to advance the economy and lure foreign investors through a package of measures to develop the business climate, he said. France has encouraged French companies to pump investments in Egypt and benefit from the new circumstances that emerged following the recent economic decisions. French companies are already working in Egypt in the transport and food sectors and seek more involvement in new fields such as the construction of new and sustainable cities, he added. The French companies are also interested in the renewable energy sector and the production and distribution of electricity, he noted. |
