President Abdel Fattah El Sisi praised efforts exerted by the Suez Canal Authority to develop work in the canal region to boost the country's economy and create more job opportunities for Egypt' s youth.
During a meeting with the authority chairman Mohab Mamish, Sisi stressed the importance of the canal as one of the vital elements of international trade and navigation. Presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said Mamish posted the president on the canal's operation and the number of ships crossing it which hit a record last week reaching 67 ships per day. Mamish asserted that the high number of ships crossing the canal asserted the success of the New Suez Canal and the world confidence in the ability of the Egyptians to run the canal. Mamish said a plan is underway to establish two centers for offering logistic services and maintenance for the ships which transit the canal, one on the Gulf of Suez, while the other lies in Adabiya port in Port Said. |
