President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met a number of ministers to review the progress of work in some new projects.
The president got acquainted with the rate of implementing projects that are meant to improve living standards of citizens particularly in the fields of energy which witnessed a quantum leap over the recent period, said Presidential Spokesman Alaa Yousef. Efforts exerted in this domain to provide fuel for power stations has helped in meeting growing needs of electricity, said the spokesman, following the meeting which was attended by Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker, Petroleum Minister Tareq el-Mulla, Trade and Industry Minister Tareq Qabeel and Public Business Sector Minister Ashraf el-Sharqawy. Qabeel told the president during the meeting that four industrial complexes will be offered in Upper Egypt during the coming period with 200 factories at each, said the spokesman. The minister said that the first patch of tanning factories in the El-Robeky industrial zone will be announced soon. He added that the plants have been equipped with necessary machinery for initial operation in 2018. The public business sector minister told the meeting that efforts are underway to restructure the sector's companies, which, he said, achieved a total profit of 1.6 billion EGP in the 2015-16 Fiscal Year. The profits hit 2.7 billion EGP in the first half of the 2016-17 Fiscal Year. The president stressed the importance of continuing the implementation of the current projects. |
