 Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr said relations between Egypt and Mexico have recently witnessed a big progress in various sectors.
Nasr's remarks were made during here meeting with Mexican Ambassador in Cairo Jose Octavio Trip. The two sides discussed the increase of Mexican investments in Egypt as the Mexican ambassador showed his country's interest in increasing its investments in Egypt following the issuance of a new investment law that could provide job opportunities for youth and women. They agreed on establishing an Egyptian-Mexican Investment Council to activate fields of cooperation between the two countries, especially in the fields enjoying high competitiveness such as real estate, social housing and specialized industries. The ambassador also asserted his country's firm resolve to push up economic cooperation which currently focuses on cement, contracting and technology . Mexico's investments in Egypt reached dlrs 1.2 billion, the biggest investments by a Latin American country in Egypt. The minister, on her part, noted that the new investment law approved by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi guaranteed facilities and incentives for all investors, asserting that Egypt welcomes all Mexican investors and would work on removing any obstacles in their way. |
