![]() Presidential Assistant for National, Strategic Projects Ibrahim Mahlab, Trade, and Industry Minister Tareq Qabil inspected the leather city in Robiki, Badr City, 45km east of Cairo.
There is a timetable scheduled to transfer the tanneries to Robiki’s new city. During the visit, they reviewed the executive stand of the Robiki leather city. They also inspected some pilot production lines, tannery, and some services facilities, including police station, fire fighting and ambulance centers, along with the residential buildings and sewerage plant. Mahlab said President Abdel Fattah El Sisi was keen on following up the developments of Robiki project and the relocation of the leather tanneries in Old Cairo's Magra Al Oyoun district to the new leather city. He praised the developments implemented so far in the project, and called on the ministries concerned, such as the Interior and Health ministries, to launch services in the city as soon as possible. Qabil said the Robiki project is a typical model for a specialized industrial zone, which is expected to boost the leather industry in Egypt and maximize its benefits, to turn Egypt as a regional and international hub in this domain. |
