 Minister of Industry and Trade Tareq Qabil affirmed that the Egyptian government is keen on boosting trade and investment cooperation with China, especially in view of offering all needed support for Chinese investors in Egypt and removing any obstacles.
Qabil made the remarks while addressing Trade and Investment Promotion Conference between Egypt and China which was held in Yinchuan city in Ningxia region in China in attendance of Chinese Vice Commerce Minister Qian Keming, said a statement issued by the Trade and Industry Ministry. Qabil pointed out that the Egyptian-Chinese relations witnessed a boom over the past three years. After the last visit by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Beijing, the two countries became engaged in a comprehensive strategic partnership, he said. During the conference, Qabil reviewed available investment opportunities between the both sides in view of the ministry's 2020 strategy for boosting industrial and foreign trade development. Qabil said that China is the biggest trade partner for Egypt as the volume of trade exchange between the two countries reached almost dlrs 11 billion in the past year. Qabil noted that Egypt's participation at "2017 China-Arab States" expo is an excellent change to give momentum to trade and investment cooperation between Egypt and China, adding that an Egyptian-Chinese committee was formed to speed up the implementation of joint projects and remove all obstacles. The minister called the Chinese companies to pump investments into the Egyptian market and benefit from Egypt's economic incentives. |
