Egypt is expected to receive funding in the coming months at a total of US$2.15 billion, including $1 billion from the World Bank, $500 million from the African Development Bank, $500 million from the Group of Seven, and $150 million in US aid, Sahar Nasr, Minister of Investment and International Cooperation, said.
She pointed out that agreements in this regard have been sent to the House of Representatives for approval. The minister added in a statement at the Cabinet headquarters that the total investment rose during July to $3.9 billion compared to 1.5 billion in the same month of last year. On the other hand, the Minister of Health Ahmed Emad announced that the Cabinet approved the draft law regulating medical research, which he considered a historic “leap” in this regard. He said that research on human beings was carried out by ministerial decisions but without the express consent of humans subjected to research, and without punishment for those who carried out the research without the consent of people subjected to research.
