Saudi Arabia and Russia discussed means of promoting economic, trade and investment cooperation as well as the opportunities for launching joint projects between the private sector in both countries.
A Saudi-Russian economic forum was held in Riyadh , attended by Russia's Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak and Saudi Minister of Trade and Investment Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi. The two sides reviewed making the utmost of the huge investment and trade opportunities offered by the "Saudi Vision 2030", as well as the export chances for the Saudi companies in the Russian market. Cooperation between the two countries target energy, geological exploration, petrochemicals, communications, training, health care, infrastructure, the pharmacological industries and manufacturing agricultural machinery. The forum coincided with the meeting of the Saudi-Russian Joint Committee, with participation by a host of leading companies from the various economic sectors in the two countries. During Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud's visit to Russia last month, the 2 countries embarked on commercial and investment talks and signed a host of agreements for promoting bilateral cooperation in all fields, focusing on economy, trade and investment.. King Salman dad earlier received Novak, who is head of the Russian side in the joint committee. . They addressed the significant role of the committee for bolstering bilateral ties in all fields.. It was attended by Minister of State and Cabinet's Member Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf; minister Al-Qasabi, who heads the Saudi side in the joint committee; Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir; Governor of Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority Ibrahim Al-Omar, and the Russian Ambassador to the Kingdom Sergei Kozlov. |
