On the sideline of the UAE-Malaysia Business and Investment Forum in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur, the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Upon signing the MoU, Mr. Abdullah Ghurair Al-Qubaisi, Deputy Director General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, who signed the MoU on behalf of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, said that the MoU would contribute to bolstering the relationship between the members of the two chambers and to launching joint projects that would boost economic growth on all levels. Al-Qubaisi added that the Chamber is aware to cooperate with the Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry which is a home to a large number of members, businessmen and investors who can visit Abu Dhabi and sign cooperation agreements with Emirati businessmen in order to start joint industrial and trade projects. “Abu Dhabi adopts an economic vision which works towards establishing an economy based on diverse and sustainable knowledge and offers huge opportunities to investors to grow and prosper in an advanced and distinguished business environment,” he said. The Deputy Director General stated that Abu Dhabi is focusing on developing a number of sectors in order to enhance its current position as regional hub for trade and businesses and to realize a sustainable social and economic development. Such sectors include the aviation sectors, space technologies, defense, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, tourism, healthcare, transport, trade, education, media, financial services, telecommunications. According to the MoU, the two sides would regularly exchange opinions and information on markets in order to develop the different industrial and economic activities. The MoU also states that both sides are to organize communication forums between the members of the two chambers in different economic fields and to exchange trade visits as well as to hold exhibitions with the aim of creating more opportunities for investors in both countries. Sultan Al-Mansouri, UAE Minister of Economy; His Excellency Dato Sri Mustapa Mohamed, Minister of International Trade and Industry in Malaysia; and His Excellency Khalid Ghanim Al-Gaith, UAE Ambassador to Malaysia, attended the signing ceremony of the MoU.. |
