 Investment and International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr opened , a trading session of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) to mark the International Women's Day (IWD).
The ceremony was organized by the International Finance Corporation, in cooperation with the Egyptian Exchange and the UN Women. In statements following the opening ceremony, Nasr stressed the important role played by Egyptian women in social and economic development, saying that the new investment law has put into consideration gender equality and the empowerment of women. She noted that her ministry has allocated 50 percent of grants to businesswomen to encourage them to play a more active role in the Egyptian community. Egyptian women got a lot of their rights under the rule of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, she said, citing the presence of six women ministers in the current government. |
