Jordan FM, Irish Counterpart Discuss Ties, Regional Developments

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in the caretaker government Ayman Safad , discussed with Irish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Simon Coveney, means to boost bilateral ties as well as regional developments.

The two ministers pointed to the broad prospects for enhancing cooperation in economic and trade fields and agreed to find institutional frameworks through which specialists will discuss cooperation and exchange of experiences in the fields of agriculture, education and information technology, trade and investment..

The two ministers also reviewed regional developments, mainly the Palestinian issue and the Syrian crisis..

Safadi and Coveney stressed the need for concerted efforts to break the deadlock in the peace efforts and start a real and effective effort to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on the basis of the two-state solution and in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions..
