The government expressed readiness to provide Iraq with technical expertise in the field of statistics to help the country implement the General Population and Housing Census in 2020.
During a meeting between Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Mary Kawar and President of the Secretariat General of the Iraqi Ministers Council Mahdi Al-Alaq in the presence of the Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Safia Al-Suhail and Director General of the Department of Statistics Qassim Al-Zu'bi, Jordan expressed its readiness to provide Iraq with expertise in implementing the census electronically. The meeting also touched upon the possibility of benefiting from the Jordanian expertise in the field of cooperation with international institutions. For his part, the Iraqi side outlined investment opportunities in the Iraqi provinces, calling on the Jordanian private sector to benefit from investment opportunities in Iraq and contribute to Iraq's reconstruction process. The ambassador reviewed the measures taken to facilitate bilateral trade and movement of goods and people between the two countries. The meeting also outlined cooperation in higher education between the two countries. |
