The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, SCCI, and a delegation from Belarus examined areas of economic cooperation between Sharjah and Belarus, in addition to reviewing ways to enhance economic relations and mutual investment opportunities between the various economic sectors of both sides.
Mohamed Ahmed Amin, Acting Director-General of the SCCI, and Igor Bondarev, Head of the Commercial Section at the Embassy of Belarus to the UAE, discussed a number of topics of mutual interest including ways to develop cooperation and coordination between the chamber and the Commercial Section at the Embassy of Belarus to the UAE, which contributes to enhancing economic relations between the two countries and between Belarus and the emirate of Sharjah. The meeting between the two sides was held recently at the SCCI headquarters, in the presence of Sheikha Azza Al Qassimi, Deputy Chief Operating Officer at Expo Centre Sharjah, and Abdulaziz Shattaf, Assistant Director-General for Members Services at the SCCI. The two sides agreed to form an official delegation from the chamber, which will include representatives from Sharjah’s business community who will visit Belarus next year to learn about the investment opportunities in the country and explore the various areas of economic cooperation. Amin demonstrated the benefits of investment in Sharjah and the high status that the emirate enjoys as a leading economic centre in the region and the world. He then reviewed the most prominent services provided by the chamber and its subsidiaries to foreign businesspeople and investors that aim to assist them in establishing and developing successful businesses within an environment that encourages investment. He also stressed that the chamber is keen to enhance and promote the economic relations between Sharjah and Belarus and to build trade partnerships between the business communities of both countries. Bondarev expressed his country’s interest in developing economic relations between Belarus and Sharjah, and the desire to develop areas of mutual cooperation and investment between the business communities in Belarus and Sharjah and to take advantage of all the facilities provided by both sides. The SCCI urged the visiting delegation to encourage the business community in Belarus to participate in the international events and exhibitions that the Expo Centre Sharjah organises and hosts throughout the year. The two sides also agreed on the importance of holding more direct meetings in the future to promote investment and cooperation between both sides in order to reach further growth and prosperity. |
