Dr. Hashim Al Nuaimi, Director of the Consumer Protection Department at the MoE, said that the ministry is gearing up for the busy Eid Al-Adha season. , we met with primary livestock suppliers and encouraged them to ensure an adequate supply of sacrificial animals ahead of the festive season of Eid Al-Adha. We are also touring UAE cattle markets to keep a check on prices," he said. He added that the MoE has introduced a consumer monitoring initiative that invites consumers to report any price hikes to regulatory bodies by calling 600-522-225 or the numbers of relevant local departments. Zuhoor Al Sabbagh, Director of the Public Health Services Department at DM, said, "To accommodate a large number of incoming livestock ahead of Eid Al-Adha, we have confirmed the readiness of our veterinary quarantines and laboratories as well as abattoirs. We have also deployed more doctors at veterinary quarantines and veterinary laboratory technicians and extended their working hours at various livestock markets in Dubai."
