A report by the Customs Authority showed that basic commodities worth dlrs 1.6 billion were imported for local consumption from March till July of 2018.
The report, handed to Finance Minister Mohamed Maeit, said the imported commodities include livestock head, fresh and frozen meat, poultry, fish, diary products, sugar, rice, cooking oil, vegetables and fruit and wheat. The report referred to State's keenness on providing basic commodities at affordable price in markets to face traders' greed. |
