The world-famous German trade fair BAU has recorded a strong increase in Saudi guests in recent years. 1,188 Saudi guests visited the past three editions of the exhibition. The increased numbers can be explained by the growing importance of the construction sector based on projects in the view of Saudi Vision 2030.
The German-Saudi Arabian Liaison Office for Economic Affairs (GESALO) hosted in cooperation with Messe München a presentation and press conference introducing the world's leading trade fair for architecture, materials, and systems – BAU. The event at the Marriott Hotel in Riyadh was opened by GESALO Delegate Oliver Oehms who emphasized the importance of the fair and expressed his concerns for further German-Saudi Arabian cooperation in the construction sector. The Global Portfolio Director of Architecture, Construction Materials, and Systems at Messe München GmbH, Mirko Arend, painted a more detailed picture of the fair that will present practice-oriented innovations and interdisciplinary solutions for commercial and residential construction and interior work for both new-build and renovation. The event culminated with Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al Jammaz, Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the Saudi Building Code National Committee who presented an overview of the Construction Sector and related projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the view of Vision 2030. The internationally highly accredited trade fair BAU will take place in Munich on Jan. 14-19, 2019, and has proven itself as an effective international contact and business platform for the construction industry. BAU is held biennially. |
