President Abdel Fattah El Sisi pressed for efficiency in providing commodities and meeting the needs of citizens at reasonable prices via an integrated strategy involving market control tools, mainly at the most needy areas.
The president as well assigned the government to buy rice crop from farmers with fair prices to contribute to alleviating the economic burdens. President Sisi urged outlining a comprehensive strategy for the management of the animal husbandry establishments in a way that goes in line with best global standards and most advanced technological techniques. This came at the President's meeting with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli and the governor of the Central Bank of Egypt along with the ministers of defense, foreign affairs, justice, supply, finance, interior, agriculture and communications. The meeting was also attended by the chief of general intelligence directorate and the head of the administrative control authority. During the meeting, Sisi reviewed procedures meant to filter lists of people benefiting from the ration cards with the aim of controlling subsidy system and making sure that subsidies reach those who deserve them, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi said. The meeting as well touched on the government's efforts to end tax disputes and collect arrears and customs debts, Radi added. The president followed up the latest developments pertaining to the current economic situation and the exchange rate, said Radi. Sisi also directed the government to go ahead with implementing the economic reform program and efforts meant to reduce the budget deficit, Radi added. |
