Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza delivered a keynote speech at the Bahrain-British Business Forum meeting, at the Diplomat Hotel.
British Ambassador to Bahrain Simon Martin and Forum Chairman Khalid Al Zayani, along with more than 200 Bahraini and British businessmen from various sectors, were present. The minister spoke of the 200-year old historical relations between Bahrain and the United Kingdom, especially in the field of electricity, water and renewable energy. Dr. Mirza extended sincere thanks to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the government for their keen interest in encouraging investment in clean energy in their pursuit of sustainable development. He thanked the event’s organising committee and said it had benefitted the national economy and strengthened further the relations of the two countries. Dr. Mirza highlighted Bahrain’s plans and projects in renewable energy and investment opportunities available to local and international companies. He also gave detailed answers to participants’ questions. The British Ambassador, Al Zayani and the organisers thanked Dr. Mirza for his positive response to attend the event and agree to be the keynote speaker. The ambassador said British companies are keen to invest and take part in existing and future projects. |
