Minister of Trade and Industry Amr Nassar inaugurated the launching conference of the “National Industrial Localization Program (NILP),” jointly organized by the Industrial Modernization Center (IMC) and the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI), under the auspices of the ministry.
In line with the government’s sustainable development strategy till 2030, the program aims to offer all support for domestic industries in order to compete with other foreign giants. “Egypt boasts a broad and diverse manufacturing base capable of replacing imports of many goods; hence, largely cutting the country’s trade deficit and providing hard currency,” Nassar said in his opening speech. The move, he added, is an important step towards pursuing the reforms currently carried out by the government to create a business-friendly atmosphere in Egypt. |
