The Trade Agreements and Foreign Trade Sector of the Trade and Industry Ministry organized a national workshop on a World Trade Organization (WTO) agreement on import licensing procedures.
In a statement , the ministry said that the workshop, which is organized in cooperation with the WTO, witnessed participation of two experts at the WTO's market access department besides representatives of the ministries of health, agriculture and land reclamation, environment, petroleum and transport. Acting Head of the Trade Agreements and Foreign Trade Sector Amany el Wesal stressed the importance of the workshop to probe such a vital issue as import licensing procedures, adding that the WTO member countries had shown much attention for it during their meeting for a fourth review of the trade policies and practices of Egypt at the beginning of 2018. The workshop represents an important step for starting effective cooperation between the Egyptian bodies concerned with import licensing and the Trade Agreements and Foreign Trade Sector, the official added. |
