Planning Minister Hala el Saeed had talks with United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs Liu Zhenmin on means of promoting bilateral cooperation, especially supporting "Egypt Vision 2030" for sustainable development.
During the meeting, Saeed underlined the government's outstanding efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). She noted that reform programs carried out by the government serve sustainable development goals. She expounded that many challenges - topped by overpopulation - were obstructing these goals. The UN official - who was visiting Egypt to attend Cairo water week - lauded Egypt Vision 2030. He stressed the UN's preparedness to support Egypt to achieve sustainable development goals. Egypt represents an example for linking SDGs to the government programs and investment plans, he added. |
