Egypt's Permanent Delegate to the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG) Ambassador Alaa Youssef reviewed Egyptian efforts and policies to boost investments within a framework of Egypt Vision 2030.
Youssef was delivering a speech before the concluding session of World Investment Forum 2018, organized by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in Geneva. The ambassador said the forum was a great opportunity for dialogue and interaction among key figures in the field of investment, including representatives of governments, the private sector, international organizations, and civil society. He pointed out that Egypt passed several legislation over the past period, such as the new investment law in 2017, as part of ongoing efforts to promote investment in the country and remove all obstacles facing companies investing in the Egyptian market. Such procedures lured more national and foreign investments and that was reported by UNCTAD World Investment Report 2017 which listed Egypt as Africa's top investment destination and the third investment destination in MENA, he added. |
