The Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) started a meeting with participation of a high-ranking delegation from the State of Kuwait, headed by Finance Minister Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf. On sidelines of the meeting, Minister Al-Hajraf, who is expected to address the audience with a long speech, said Kuwait's participation in this event comes from its belief in the importance of enhancing economic work among the Islamic countries.
He pointed to the active contributions of the Kuwaiti technical chambers, which edited the final report of the meeting. The agena focuses on ways to enhance financial and economic cooperation among OIC member states. It tackles different economic and commercial subjects, particularly issues related to the improvement of customs risk management systems. There will be discussion of the latest developments in the field of economic cooperation among Islamic countries and a review of reports by special teams that were formed to discuss the OIC Ten Year Program of Action and the Plan of Action adopted at the 13th Islamic Summit, held in Istanbul in 2016. Kuwait's delegation to the COMCEC event includes Assistant Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs Ambassador Amal Al-Hamad, Assistant Undersecretary for Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance Nabil Al-Abdaljalil, Kuwait Ambassador to Ankara Gassan Al-Zawawi and Consul General in Istanbul Mohammad Al-Mohammad. |
