Senate President, Faisal Fayez, met UAE Ambassador to Jordan, Matar Al Shamsi, to discuss Jordanian-Emirati relations.
During the meeting, Fayez lauded bilateral ties are "deep-rooted and strategic" on various levels.
He said the bilateral ties are based on mutual respect, adding there is sustained cooperation and coordination between His Majesty King Abdullah II and UAE President, Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on issues aimed to best serve both countries. He congratulated the UAE on the occasion of the 47th National Day, wishing UAE's leader and people progress and prosperity. He lauded the UAE's continued support to the Kingdom to overcome challenges it is facing, calling for increasing UAE investment in Jordan, as it has an attractive investment environment and the qualified workforce. For his aprt, Al Shamsi hailed the level of bilateral ties as " historic" based on principles of cooperation and mutual respect, adding joint coordination is a true testament of their depth in various fields. He said the 2017 trade volume hit $1.345 billion, and the volume of Emirate investment in Jordan reached $17 billion by the end of this year |
