Minister of Trade and Industry Amr Nassar asserted ongoing coordination with the Central Bank of Egypt to activate its financing role to boost Egypt's presence in the African markets.
This came in Nassar's meeting with Chairman of Banque du Caire Tareq Fayed on the sidelines of Africa 2018 Forum held in Sharm El Sheikh. The meeting tackled boosting the role of banks in providing financing mechanisms to meet the strategic requirement of the Ministry of Trade which aims at promoting industrial development and increasing exports. Nassar said that the ministry pays big attention to the African markets as they are promising for the Egyptian products. The ministry is working on activating the role of the Export Development Bank to provide funding programs suitable for encouraging exporters to direct their products to the African markets, he also said. Meanwhile, Fayed said that the bank has a comprehensive vision to increase its presence in Africa. He asserted Banque du Caire's keenness on providing funding mechanisms for small- and micro-scale enterprises. |
