Director General of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) Dr. Sidi Ould Tah described Africa as a continent of opportunities.
Addressing a discussion session at the third edition of Africa 2018 Forum, held in Sharm El Sheikh, Tah noted that Africa is rich in natural and human resources which should be exploited to promote the continent's development process. The continent needs great investments in the field of energy, as it only produces about 3 percent of the global electricity production, BADEA director general added. All actors, not only governments or investors, should spare no effort to create a favorable investment climate in Africa, he further said. He also pointed out that women and youth empowerment is the key to development in Africa, citing the bank's efforts to cooperate with a large number of international financial institutions to boost investment in Africa. |
