President Abdel Fattah El Sisi praised a decision taken by the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) to list Egypt in its Program for Country Partnership.
During a meeting with visiting UNIDO Director-General LI Yong, the president expressed Cairo's appreciation for current cooperation between Egypt and UNIDO. He expressed hope that UNIDO would increase the number of projects it establishes in Egypt in all development fields. The president further stressed Egypt's keenness on boosting cooperation with UNIDO, describing it as a main partner of Egypt in the field of industrial development. LI, meanwhile, said his current visit to Egypt is meant to discuss aspects of mutual cooperation with the Egyptian government and support the country's efforts to achieve sustainable development. He praised the recent economic reform decisions taken by the Egyptian government within the framework of Egypt Vision 2030. LI further expressed hope that Egypt would support his organization's activities in Africa during its presidency of the African Union in 2019. |
