In an issued statement by the Lebanese Forces Party (LF) , it indicated that a meeting took place today between the Party's Business Executives' branch and members of the "Strong Republic" Parliamentary Bloc, namely MPs George Okeis, Shawki Daccache and Ziad Hawat, at the Party's headquarters in Dbayeh.
Talks centered on "the best ways of cooperation to approach the complicated economic dossiers, starting with the deterioration of the tourism sector to the faltering industry and agriculture sectors and how to find integration between them and the trade sector, which could reduce a quarter of the volume of imported goods worth about 20 billion dollars." Conferees also discussed the status of tenders and the role of the Central Inspection Body. The deputies asked LF's senior executives "to work on defining the laws and legislations that must be developed or proposed in each sector, in an attempt to turn the problems into bills that would regulate the Lebanese economy and its development, and thus fight corruption in the public and private sectors." Participants agreed to "develop a joint plan of action, prepare a workshop on tourism and how to promote Lebanon as an important touristic destination in the region and the world, and try to create new job opportunities for the Lebanese youth to keep them rooted in their homeland. |
