Chadian Minister of Economic Planning and Development Issa Doubragne and Infrastructure Minister Abdel Rahman Mokhtar asserted their country's keenness to boost cooperation with Egypt in different fields, especially in light of Egyptian-Chadian strong and distinguished ties.
During their talks with Investment Minister Sahar Nasr and Health Minister Hala Zayed, the two Chadian ministers said that N'djamena will cooperate with Cairo in the coming period to build integrated economic zones in Africa, said a statement by the Investment Ministry . The two sides also discussed boosting joint investments in the infrastructure, medicines, construction, renewable energy domains, in addition to increasing trade exchange between the two countries, the statement added. The talks also tackled the possibility of establishing a joint Egyptian-Chadian business council to open up external markets for Egyptian exports and boost trade exchange. They also discussed fostering bilateral cooperation in the livestock, transport, aviation, water resources and Irrigation fields. For her part, the investment minister said the Egyptian political leadership is keen on encouraging Egyptian investors to direct their investments into African states, notably Chad. During its presidency of the AU, Egypt will give a top priority to upgrading Africa's basic infrastructure, Nasr added. For her part, the health minister said Egypt will seek to transfer its vast experience in fighting diseases, especially with regard to combating non-communicable diseases and tumors to Chad. Zayed added Egypt is going ahead with creating a suitable business environment to stimulate investors to step up their investments in the area of medicines, stressing the need to work on the promotion of manufacturing biomedical products for treating tumors. Nasr and Zayed are currently on a visit to Chad leading a high-profile delegation, comprising members of the Egyptian Businessmen Association and representatives of Egyptian companies working in the fields of health, pharmaceuticals, and construction. |
