 Investment Minister Sahar Nasr urged international institutions to place the agenda of the developing nations and South states on the top of its priorities to contribute to developing emerging economies.
Nasr was speaking at the second high-level conference on South-South Cooperation in Buenos Aires. Nasr is leading a delegation to the conference at the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. The conference will wind up tomorrow. A host of heads of states, ministers representing 110 countries in addition to politicians and representatives of the private sector and civil society are taking part in the conference. Egypt's participation in the conference comes as part its efforts to foster cooperation with South countries and the African continent during its current presidency of the African Union. South-South cooperation is a term historically used by policymakers and academics to describe the exchange of resources, technology, and knowledge between developing countries, also known as countries of the Global South. The central theme of the conference this year is how the South-South cooperation represents an opportunity to achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the globally-agreed blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet. |
