 Egypt's Minister of Investment Sahar Nasr says that the current level of economic cooperation between Egypt and the United States reflects "the unique partnership binding both countries", highlighting that US investments in Egypt amounted to $21.8 billion in the fiscal year 2017/18.
Nasr statements came during her meeting in Cairo with USAID Administrator Mark Green, which was attended by Thomas Goldberger, the US Charge d'Affaires, the Assistant Administrator for the Middle East Bureau Michael Harvey, and Sherry Carlin, the USAID Mission Director in Egypt. The meeting discussed cooperation with the USAID during Egypt's current chairmanship of the African Union in supporting development to achieve comprehensive growth and supporting all African countries, especially the most needy, as well as contributing to the development of infrastructure and promoting integration between African countries. Mark Green praised the economic and social reform programme adopted by Egypt to improve the investment climate, pointing out USAID’s keenness to enhance economic partnership with Egypt within the upcoming period. |
