A meeting was held today between the officials of the Federal Customs Authority, FCA and a visiting delegation from the Bureau of Industry, Security and Import and Export Control, BISIEC of the Ministry of Commerce, People’s Republic of China.
The meeting discussed means of boosting cooperation in customs affairs through exchange of information and sharing of best practices. The UAE side was headed by Mohammed Juma Buosaiba, Director General of the FCA, while the Chinese delegation was led by Jiang Qianliang, Acting Director General of the BISIEC. Buosaiba emphasised the importance of enhancing cooperation, particularly in the control of dual use commodities. He added that China had been the UAE's top trading partner for the past five years, followed by India. Non-oil trade between the two countries reached AED 116.7 billion (US$ 32 billion) during the first nine months of 2018. |
