The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced an increase in bank deposits by around EGP 19 billion by the end of January to reach EGP 3.837 trillion compared to EGP 3.818 trillion in December.
The total governmental deposits at banks reached EGP 624.2 billion, up from EGP 613.7 billion in December, including 499.9 billion in local currency and around 124.3 billion in foreign currency, the CBE said in a report, a copy of which was obtained by MENA. The total non-governmental deposits at banks until January hit EGP 3.213 trillion compared to EGP 3.204 trillion in December, added the CBE in its report |
