Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli chaired a meeting to follow up the manufacturing of tablets in Egypt.
The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed El Assar, Minister of Education Tarek Shawki, and Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat. Madbouli stressed that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has ordered to manufacture the tablet locally. The premier pointed out that the government aims to conclude an agreement with a company that can provide the best offer with the highest value to achieve an unprecedented technological quantum leap on that score. Shawki said that committees have been formed to follow up that issue and consider offers of different companies. El Assar said tablets could be manufactured at the headquarters of the company in Egypt and then be distributed in the region, particularly in Africa. Talaat said his ministry participated in forming a team to ensure cooperation and coordination among respective bodies, adding that negotiations are underway with international companies to choose the best offers. The ministers agreed on holding a meeting at the beginning of the next week to reach an agreement on the details of this file before choosing the awarded company. |
