Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology on upgrading integrated information systems at the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI).
The protocol was signed by Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr and Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat at the new government headquarters in New Alamein City. In press statements following the inking ceremony, Nasr said the cooperation protocol comes upon directives from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and the prime minister to develop and expand free zones and investment areas with the aim of luring further domestic and foreign investments. The investment minister also pointed out to cooperation between her ministry and the communications ministry to mechanize the Ministry of Investment’s Investor Service Center and its branches in governorates in a way that helps facilitate services for investors across Egypt and improve the country's international economic position. Meanwhile, the communications minister said the coming stage will witness close cooperation with the investment ministry through several joint projects, most notably the completion of mechanizing all services provided to investors. |
