 President Abdel Fattah El Sisi had talks with Japanese Economy, Trade and Industry Minister Hiroshige Seko on investment opportunities in Egypt and means of boosting bilateral cooperation in the economic and trade domains.
In statements, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi said that President Sisi posted Seko on promising opportunities in Egypt in the various sectors, particularly in giant national projects. During their meeting, Sisi said Egypt is looking forward to setting up a partnership with Japan in national projects related to public transport and new and renewable energy sectors, the spokesman said. Sisi also underlined the important role played by the Japanese Trade Ministry in encouraging Japanese companies to contribute to the implementation of investment projects in the Suez Canal Area Development Project. For his part, the Japanese minister expressed his country's keenness on promoting joint cooperation with view to transferring advanced technology to Egypt in all fields, along with encouraging Japanese companies to invest in Egypt within the framework of pushing forward the comprehensive development process. The minister also lauded measures taken by Egypt to lure more foreign direct investments to the country. He also reviewed in this respect new and existing Japanese investments in Egypt. He pledged that his country would continue coordination with the Egyptian governmental parties in the coming period to shore up economic cooperation between the two countries. |
