Kuwait's non-oil exports went down 3.6 percent last August, compared to the same period in 2018, said the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
The total number for certificates of origin for Arab and foreign countries' exports was about 837 certificates worth KD 5.7 million (about USD 18.8 million) in August, compared to 532 worth KD 5.9 million in 2018, the ministry said in a press statement. Certificates of origin for Kuwaiti exports to Arab countries, excluding the GCC states, reached 211 certificates worth KD 3.4 million, compared to 65 certificates with KD 2.3 million for foreign countries. Certificates of origin for Kuwaiti exports to the Gulf countries was 561 certificates worth KD 6.2 million, it added. Jordan was the top Arab country in importing Kuwaiti exports, followed by Egypt, Iraq, Algeria, Lebanon, Tunisia, Morocco, Sudan, Yemen and Palestine. Qatar came first in GCC states, followed by the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Oman. As for foreign countries, Belgium was on top of the list, France, Italy, Turkey, Spain and Greece. |
