The Military Production Ministry signed a memorandum of understanding with China's SSE company and Marathon International Limited on building a factory for manufacturing electric vehicle charging stations.
The MoU comes in light of the ministry's keenness on the localization of the industry of electric vehicle charging stations and recycling the batteries in line with the State's orientation to expand in the usage of the electric cars. Meanwhile, Executive Director of SSE Pan Fei expressed his interest in cooperating with the Egyptian ministry in localizing the manufacture of the electric vehicle charging stations and recycling the expired batteries to be used for other purposes. SSE is ready for transferring its latest technology in this field to the Egyptian ministry's companies to exports its products to the Arab and African countries through Egypt, Fei added. Earlier in April, the ministry inked an agreement with Foton Motor to produce 2,000 electric buses over 4 years at its Tank Production and Repair Company (Factory 200). |
