The Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) signed a cooperation protocol with Italy's Breton S.p.A. aiming to localize the manufacturing of marble machinery.
This comes within the framework of the AOI's strategy to increase the value added of industries that support the country's development plans through reducing imports and raising investment opportunities in Egypt. Following the signing ceremony, AOI Chairman Abdel Moneim el Tarras said the organization is keen on boosting cooperation with global companies, in implementation of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's directives on the localization of technology and raising local component ratios in different industries. Under the protocol, the two sides will work on the exchange of technical expertise and training human resources, as well as localizing the manufacturing of marble machinery, as per the global quality standards. He added that the AOI seeks to meet the local market's needs, while expanding in the export of marble to Africa and the Arab region. For their part, the Italian company officials lauded the AOI's manufacturing and human capabilities, as well as its ability to make good use of technology to boost local industry, in accordance with the global quality standards. Also, they expressed their willingness to open up new horizons for cooperation with the AOI to satisfy the local market's needs of marble machinery and increase export opportunities to Africa and the Middle East in the future. |
