Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli met with CEO of the newly-established United States International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) Adam S. Boehler.
The premier expressed Egypt's aspiration to cooperate with the newly established institution to build on the cooperation with the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), a US government agency whose mission was to help US companies invest in emerging markets around the world, create jobs and provide training to the local workforce. DFC can support important projects in Egypt, especially as the government is keen to encourage the participation of private sector in economic activity to contribute to job creation, he added. Egypt is a vital market with its manpower and free trade agreements linking the country to several regional markets, Madbouli said. For his part, Boehler hailed Egypt's remarkable success in implementing its economic reform program. Egypt enjoys many advantages, first and foremost is its manpower, excellent geographical position, and its stability and security. Therefore, the organization looks forward to intensifying cooperation with Egypt during the coming period, he added. |
