Minister of Trade and Industry Amr Nassar held a meeting with head of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) Aleksandr Shokhin to review Moscow’s investment projects in the Russian industrial zone in Egypt.
The meeting touched on means of fostering cooperation between Russia’s RSPP and the Federation of Egyptian Industries with regard to developing technical specifications and upgrading the Suez Canal project, including ships’ building and maintenance, the minister said in a statement Friday. The meeting was held at the conclusion of Nassar’s participation in the Russia-Africa Summit in Russia’s resort city of Sochi. The minister highlighted the promising investment opportunities available, which he said promote partnership between private sectors in Egypt and Russia, especially in light of the great support offered by the two countries’ governments to bolster bilateral economic ties. Meanwhile, the RSPP head asserted the union’s keenness to develop cooperation with the Egyptian business community, hailing the Egyptian market as one of the most important ones in the Middle East and Africa. He added that several Russian companies have shown interest in pumping investments in the Egyptian market. |
