Lt. Gen. Osama Rabie, Chairperson of Suez Canal Authority, received at the Guidance Building in Ismailia, Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Oleg Ryazantsev, accompanied by the leaders of the Russian company AK BARS, one of the major international companies in the field of shipbuilding.
The visit aims to discuss ways of activating the joint cooperation protocol between Suez Canal Authority and AK BARS to develop the arsenals of the Authority and open new horizons for cooperation in the fields of repair and construction of all types and categories of ships. The cooperation protocol aims to enhance the use of the technical expertise of the Russian company to develop the two ports of Port Said naval port Tawfik, Suez, and to study the possibility of a partnership between the two sides to establish a new joint arsenal in the El Gouna area in Eastern Port Said in accordance with the latest technology in the field of shipbuilding. The team welcomed the Russian delegation, wishing to achieve the desired results in light of the desire of both sides to turn the terms of the agreement into executive steps, adding that the efforts to develop the arsenals of the Authority and its subsidiaries are proceeding steadily under the guidance of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to maximize their utilization and develop their human and technical capabilities and resources. The Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade affirmed that the Egyptian-Russian cooperation is witnessing development in all fields and enjoys presidential and governmental support from both countries. Rabie praised the existing cooperation to develop the arsenals of the Authority, as a good area for investment in light of the accumulated experience of the Russian company AKABARS accumulated in the field of ship repair and construction. The Russian side reviewed the proposed work agenda, the developments in the development process and discussed technical and administrative aspects and the results of the inspection tours in the arsenals of the Authority. The Russian delegation included the Russian trade representative in Egypt, the chairman of AK BARS, the CEO of the company, and the general manager of the shipbuilding and repair technology center in the presence of a number of board members, heads of Port Saidia Company, Canal Marine Construction Company, Suez Maritime Shipyard Company and Advisor to the Chairman of the Authority's arsenals. . It is noteworthy that the visit is the second for the Russian delegation after the signing of a protocol of cooperation between the Suez Canal Authority and the Russian company AKA BARS. |
